How to Find Their Ring Size Secretly

Planning a proposal? Here are the easiest ways to find their ring size without giving the surprise away.

Borrow a ring they already wear

Choose a ring they wear on their ring finger, or the same finger on the other hand. Trace the inside on paper, or slide it onto a finger of yours and mark where it stops. Put it back before it's missed.

Ask someone close to them

A best friend, sister or parent may already know their size, or can find out casually while shopping together.

Use a ring they wear on another finger

Middle fingers are usually around one size larger than ring fingers, and the dominant hand is often slightly larger too. Tell us which finger and hand it's from and we'll help you estimate.

Measure while they sleep

Wrap a thin strip of paper or string around the base of their ring finger and mark where it overlaps. Measure the length in millimetres and send it to us.

When in doubt, size up slightly

A ring that's a little big can be worn safely until it's resized. A ring that's too small can't be worn at all.

The fit is covered

Most Eluri rings include one free resize within 12 months of delivery, up to 2 sizes up or down. Some designs, such as full eternity bands, can't be resized, so if you're unsure of size, talk to us about the best design for you.
