A custom ring is a big decision, so we want you to know exactly what happens at every stage, what you'll see before you pay anything, and what you're committing to when you do. Nothing is made until you've approved every detail in writing.
Seven stages, start to finish

Tell us what you have in mind
Send us a photo, a sketch, a few links, or just a feeling. Then we meet, at our private Melbourne office on Collins Street or by phone, to talk through the style, the diamond, the metal, her ring size and your budget.

Your written quote and diamond specification
We send you a written quote for your ring, including the specification your diamond will be sourced to:
- Shape and carat
- Colour and clarity
- Cut and ratio
- Lab, IGI or GIA
Choosing a diamond means balancing dozens of measurements, and that's our job. We assess every candidate stone ourselves, including how it looks in person, which a certificate can't show you. The diamond we source will meet or exceed the specification in your quote.
Begin with a 50% deposit
Your deposit starts your 3D design and lets us source your diamond. Once it's secured, we send you its IGI or GIA report number to look up on the lab's website. You receive an invoice with our terms before you pay, so everything is in writing.

See your ring in 3D, and refine it
Our designers turn your brief into a detailed CAD design. You receive realistic 3D renders from every angle, built around the exact measurements of your diamond.
- Ask for changes to the band width, claws, profile or setting height.
- Two rounds of refinements are included. Bigger changes are quoted before we start them.
- Each revision usually comes back within 2 to 3 business days.

We make your ring by hand
Your approved design is cast in solid gold or platinum, then shaped, polished and finished by hand. Your diamond is set last, with each claw shaped around it. We keep you updated along the way, and you can ask for a progress photo at any time.
Final check, photos and balance
Every ring is inspected for secure settings, finish and size. We then send you photos and video of your finished ring, and the balance is due before delivery or hand-over.

Hand-over and lifetime care
Collect your ring privately in Melbourne, or have it delivered free, fully insured and tracked, anywhere in Australia. It arrives in a presentation box with its diamond certificate, an independent valuation for insurance and a care card.
- Lifetime manufacturing warranty.
- One free resize within 12 months, up to 2 sizes, so a surprise proposal doesn't need her exact size.
- We're here for cleaning, checks and advice for as long as you own it.
Nothing is made without your approval
Your ring isn't cast until you've approved the final design in writing.
Your diamond meets the spec
It will meet or exceed the specification in your quote, or we don't use it.
You can verify it yourself
Its report number is inscribed on the stone and listed on the IGI or GIA website.
Before you commit
Your deposit
Is my deposit refundable if I don't go ahead after seeing the CAD?
No. Your deposit pays for sourcing your diamond and for your design work, so it can't be refunded if you decide not to go ahead. That's why the consultation is free, and why you receive a written quote, your diamond specification and our terms before you pay. The one exception is below.
What if the design can't be made the way I want?
We'll tell you during the consultation if something isn't possible, before you pay anything. If, after your revisions, we genuinely can't achieve a design you're happy with, we'll refund your deposit in full.
When does the deposit become non-refundable?
As soon as it's paid, because that's when we source your diamond and begin your design. The only exception is if we can't achieve a design you're happy with. Nothing in our terms affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
When is the balance due, and how do I pay?
The remaining 50% is due once your ring is finished and you've seen the photos, before delivery or hand-over. You can pay by bank transfer using the details on your invoice.
Your design
Can I ask for changes once I see the 3D renders?
Of course. That's what the design stage is for, and because we plan the design with you at the consultation, most clients only need small adjustments.
How many revisions are included?
Two rounds of refinements, such as adjusting the band width, the claws or the setting height. Bigger changes, or starting again with a different design, are quoted before we begin them.
Will you start making it before I approve?
No. Nothing is cast or set until you've approved your final design in writing.
Your diamond
When will I receive my diamond's certificate?
Your quote sets out the exact specification of your diamond: shape, carat, colour, clarity, cut and lab. Once your deposit is placed and we've sourced a stone that meets or exceeds it, we send you its IGI or GIA report number, which you can verify on the lab's website. Your full certificate comes with your ring.
Why don't you send certificates before the deposit?
Diamonds are bought and sold every day, so a certificate shared before you commit often belongs to a stone that's gone by the time you're ready. Instead, we agree the specification with you and then source the best stone available to it. We inspect every candidate ourselves and judge the things a report can't show you, like how it looks in person. If a stone doesn't meet the specification in your quote, we don't use it.
How do I know the diamond in my ring is the one on the certificate?
Every diamond we use has its report number laser-inscribed on its girdle, the thin outer edge. It's invisible to the naked eye, and we'll show it to you under magnification or send you a photo of it.
Timing and after
How long does it take from start to finish?
Usually 5 to 7 weeks in total: about a week for your design, then 4 to 6 weeks to make your ring once you've approved it. If you have a proposal date, tell us at the start and we'll plan around it.
What if it doesn't fit?
Every ring includes one free resize within 12 months, up to 2 sizes up or down.
What if something goes wrong later?
Your ring is covered by our lifetime manufacturing warranty. If a fault ever appears, we'll repair it free of charge.
